NELSON STATEMENT ON NUSSLE VOTE
Nebraska’s Senator Ben Nelson today joined 68 of his colleagues in voting to approve former Iowa Congressman Jim Nussle as Director of the Office of Management and Budget. Nelson issued the following statement:
"It is my hope that Jim Nussle will cooperate with Congress in a bipartisan fashion as we work to get the federal budget back on track. Over the past few years, the deficit has continued to grow and spending has continued to rise. Congress will look to him to discontinue the dishonest practice of funding the Iraq war off budget and to find ways to make permanent the tax cuts for American families. I look forward to working with him to achieve these goals.”
